Bangladesh’s attempt to move its T20 World Cup matches from India to Sri Lanka has hit a dead end. According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), the ICC’s Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) has dismissed the request, ruling that it doesn’t fall under its jurisdiction.

The push to relocate came after Bangladesh lost a vote at the ICC on January 21, where the proposal was defeated 14–2. With that outcome, the team was left with no choice but to prepare for playing in India during next month’s tournament.
Bangladesh then turned to the DRC in hopes of overturning the decision. But under clause 1.3 of its rules, the committee cannot act as an appeals body against decisions made by the ICC or its approved committees.
As a result, the DRC rejected the application outright. PTI also noted that an announcement on which country will take Bangladesh’s slot could be made as early as Saturday.
